LCA Farm visits
On Tuesday of last week, our LCAII students visited a local Dairy farm as part of a key assignment for their Ag. Science module. On the farm of James and Mary O’Donovan, the students were guided through some of the main features of their Dairy enterprise. This included the operation of a very impressive and modern Lely robotic milking machine to the more traditional method of bottle feeding calves. This farm visit proved to be a big hit with the students as the day concluded with hot chocolate and biscuits kindly provided by Mary. The Ag. module is a new addition to our LCA curriculum this year and is proving to be very stimulating and interesting.
