Young Technologists Success

Castlerea Community School once again excelled in the 2021 ETTA (Engineering and Technology Teachers Association) Young Technologist Regional Awards gaining two awards for Leaving Certificate Technology projects.

Ronan Tumbek achieved first place   and Stephen McNeill came second for their Leaving Certificate Technology Projects.   They each received a specially engraved Gold (Ronan) and Silver (Stephen) medal and certificate. Ronan and Stephen  go forward to the National Finals in Athlone on the 27th November.

All students designed and made every aspect of their projects themselves. Each project was individual and incorporated electronics, programming and electromechanical control. They also produced Design Folios. The focus of the 2021 Leaving Cert project was to design and manufacture a working model of a device, system or technological aid that could be of benefit in an area or aspect of exploration.

Well done to all, this is a truly wonderful achievement and C.C.S. is justly proud of these students.

Ronan Tumbek 1st in the Area 4 Regional ETTA Awards for his Leaving Cert Technology project.

Stephen McNeill 2nd in the ETTA Awards for his Leaving Cert. Technology Project.
