Double on for Cadets
Double is on for cadets.
The League and Cup double is on for CCS following their comprehensive defeat of Community School, Knocklyon at the NBA, Tallaght.
Castlerea were much more composed than in the Cup Final and against weaker opponents they were never troubled.
Lisa O’Rourke and Clara Neary were in good scoring form and Sandra Keane hit two brilliant 3 pointers. Holly Hopkins and Megan Keaveney had very solid games. Tara Keane and Laura Fanon were excellent on defence. Clodagh McFadden, Ciarraí Harkin and Ailish O’Rourke also contributed to the victory. It was great to see Fiona Kilkenny back training this week after her being out of action since November. The whole panel contributed to this 38-14 win.
First year girls
The First Year girls have now won four in a row following their three wins last week.
They defeated Dunmore 27-14 but they needed a basket with 5 seconds to go by Katelyn Hester to defeat Glenamaddy 18-17.
They then easily defeated Presentation, Tuam last Friday to put them into the Western Region Semi-Final.
The team was Katie Hannelly, Katelyn Hester, Rachel Keane, Sophie Darcy, Emma Darcy, Rachel Casey, Siobhan Casey, Molly Cunnane, Ella Thompson, Rachel Feeney, Katie Mee, Orlaith Smyth, Caoimhe Darcy
