Christmas Food Appeal

LCA 2 students have been very busy and productive in recent week in Vocational Preparation. They have been working on a number of projects relating to their local community.

Their most recent assignment was to organise an event within the school.  After considering a number of options they choose a Movie Afternoon for all the First Year students. The students were surveyed to determine the most popular Christmas movie and Home Alone won by a mile. The Movie Afternoon was a welcome break for First Year students . They were treated to beverages and popcorn and the Demonstration Room was a perfect choice of venue. The Movie Afternoon was a great success and it was a really enjoyable experience for all involved.

The profits made from this event were donated to the Super  Valu Food Appeal. The LCA 2 class were delighted to get involved and make a contribution. They purchased a large trolley of dried and tinned foods and all will be donated to our local St. Vincent de Paul. Mr. Anthony Cahill, Super  Valu, thanked the students for their substantial donation and said  “ this will make a real difference to local families.”

Thanks to Ms. Larkin and Ms. O’ Grady for co-ordinating these  projects .
