1st Year Viking Adventure
On Friday May 2nd all first year students, accompanied by their tutors Ms Gormally and Ms Collins and their year head Mr Mulhern embarked on a school tour to Athlone. On reaching Athlone the students undertook a “Viking” boat trip on the river Shannon from Athlone Castle to the Hudson Bay. A comprehensive historical commentary was provided by a tour guide. After this exciting trip students attended The Planet entertainment centre, Athlone where they participated in various activities including bowling, laser quest, video games and stimulators etc. Students thoroughly enjoyed this experience. After a fun-filled day, students arrived home exhausted but delighted at being afforded the opportunity to bond and develop greater camaraderie with each other.
