TY students involved in Peer Tutoring
Transition Year students have recently started the programme of Peer Tutoring with the 1st year students. In this model of “students helping students”, not only do the tutors and tutees develop a mutually respectful relationship, but both parties experience increased self confidence and interpersonal skills, while developing their reasoning and critical thinking skills aswell as developing a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
Peer tutoring has been an integral part of our Transition Year programme over the past number of years and continues to be a popular initiative by all involved.
