Operation Cash-Formation- CCS continue their winning streak

The Operation Cash-Formation team are delighted to have won a coveted place in the National Final of the Build a Bank challenge. The CCS team were one of 8 selected from the 24 teams who competed in the regional final which was held recently in Athlone and are the only team to go forward from Co Roscommon. The team is comprised of a group of 6 5th year students who took on the Build a Bank challenge and set up a bank branch in the school.

The team members Shane Gordon, Sara Sharkey, Alexander Szczesny, Jessica Connolly, Aishah Sattar and Taylor Moran have worked tirelessly with their teacher Yvonne Ryan and Student Officer Aine Ruane over the last few months and are now busy preparing for the national final which takes place in the RDS on Tues 25th April.

The group chose the theme of healthy lifestyles for the bank and all the promotional activities have centred on sporting and fitness events.

The bank was officially launched by the dual all Ireland winning captains Lisa O Rourke and Holly Hopkins and their manager Mr Joe Henry and the Operation Cash Formation team now hope to emulate their success.

The team and all the account holders visited the GAA Centre of Excellence on Friday last to participate in a fitness challenge and healthy lifestyles workshop facilitated by Mr John Tobin former Roscommon Senior Manager. The bank team are also actively involved in the organisation of the Castlerea Darkness into Light walk in conjunction with the Towns Teams. As part of the community aspect of the banks activities, the team are currently running an Easter raffle and all the proceeds will be donated to St Michaels School.

We would like to wish the team every success in the National Final.
