Elphin Diocese’s Schools Public Speaking Competition & Knights of St. Columbanus All-Ireland competition.

The Elphin diocesan final of the Knights of Columbanus Public Speaking competition took place in Boyle Community School on Thursday February 14th 2019 at 7:30pm. Eight teams from the Elphin diocese participated. Following very rich and engaging presentations by all teams involved, Castlerea Community School were thrilled to be named outright winners on the night. StCuan’s College Castleblakeney, and CBS Roscommon were joint second and both teams also qualify for the Connaught final on Thursday February 28th at Knock house hotel.

 

prize fund of €1,000, provided by the Knights of St. Columbanus Sligo, was equally divided among the schools participating in the Elphin Competition, i.e. as a contribution to a retreat experience for the year group of the participating team(s).

Castlerea Community School are delighted to have been involved and grateful for the Knights prize fund.
