0Congratulations! Castlerea Community School has been awarded a Diplomatic Passport – for established engagement with Global Citizenship Education
WorldWise Global Schools Programme officer, Laura Cahill thanked CCS for its application for the Diplomatic Passport award. She said it was an excellent quality application and a pleasure to read. She commended the school on the work that had been done in Global Citizenship Education (GCE). She said the school had built in really strong local to global connections in all of the work that had been done. She commented” Your teachers have done particularly well with regard to your cross curricular work and nearly a whole school approach to the theme of water has been adopted”. The TY Students’ action day on Climate Change was excellent and very interactive. The Syrian dialogue day was highly lauded and the LCA’s ‘Grow your own’ project on food security was very innovative.
The presentation of the global passport award will take place at the WorldWise Global Schools annual conference in the Galmont hotel, Galway on the 24th April.
